Start by making the dressing.  I'm using an old (clean) jam jar to mix and store my salad dressing.

Add about half a jar of garlic granules to the jam jar.

Finely chop the herbs and chuck them in too.

Finally add the sour cream and give it a really good shake (with the lid on).

Dice the red onions.

And the chillies.

Then chop the peppers.

Chuck the sweetcorn into a big tub or bowl and throw int he rest of the veggies.

If you're eating the whole lot straight away stir in the all of the dressing.  But if you want to store this and eat it over a few days store the salad and the dressing separately.  Just before serving mix the required quantity of salad with some of the dressing.

Once the salad and the dressing are mixed it'll need eating within a couple of days.  But if you store them separately they should both last for the best part of a week in the fridge, so this is a great recipe for meal prepping.

Stitch Upon a Time's Merryweather Top Sewing Project - Navy Polka Dots

I've been looking for a simple T Shirt pattern with different sleeve lengths and a v-neck option.  Most importantly I've been after a pattern that has a bit of flair about the hips to cover my post baby belly.

The Merryweather Top & Dress pattern from Stitch Upon a Time fits the bill perfectly.  It was also super easy to sew up.

I was particularly impressed with the instructions for the VNeck.  I've tried this type of pattern before and made a complete mess of it.  The instructions from Stitch Upon a Time were extremely detailed and very clear.  I followed them closely and got a result I'm delighted with.

It starts with the shoulder seams.

Then the sleeves are set in.

Then the side seams.

I finish the hems at the same time.

Now for the neck band, it gets folded in half and pressed.

The ends are sewn together with a carefully placed V.

This V shape is mirrored on the shirt front.

Then very carefully snipped.

I really took my time applying the neckband to get it positioned perfectly.

Sewing the rest of the neckband in place is pretty straight forward.

A good press.

And I top stitched the neckband for a professional finish.

I use a twin needle to stitch my hems.
