I've been looking for a simple T Shirt pattern with different sleeve lengths and a v-neck option. Most importantly I've been after a pattern that has a bit of flair about the hips to cover my post baby belly.
The Merryweather Top & Dress pattern from Stitch Upon a Time fits the bill perfectly. It was also super easy to sew up.
I was particularly impressed with the instructions for the VNeck. I've tried this type of pattern before and made a complete mess of it. The instructions from Stitch Upon a Time were extremely detailed and very clear. I followed them closely and got a result I'm delighted with.

It starts with the shoulder seams.
Then the sleeves are set in.
Then the side seams.
I finish the hems at the same time.
Now for the neck band, it gets folded in half and pressed.
The ends are sewn together with a carefully placed V.
This V shape is mirrored on the shirt front.
Then very carefully snipped.
I really took my time applying the neckband to get it positioned perfectly.
Sewing the rest of the neckband in place is pretty straight forward.
A good press.
And I top stitched the neckband for a professional finish.
I use a twin needle to stitch my hems.
