Ladies Pyjama Pants - Sewing Pattern Review: Simplicity 7576

I'm making myself a new pair of Pyjama bottoms using a vintage pattern by Simplicity and some gorgeous brushed cotton from my stash.

I've shortened the pants by 3".

I often get the back and front of pants mixed up while I'm sewing.  I also forget to add my little sewing label.  So I pin the label onto the pants back.  This makes it easy to see which piece is the back and also serves as a reminder to include my label in the seam when I come to stitch it.

Labels in the centre back can be irritating to the skin.  So I tend to sew mine a little further down the centre seam.

If I was to sew these pants again I'd overlock the pocket straight edge and the pant edge before sewing the leg seam.

I'd also sew the entire pocket edge tot he pant instead of just between the circles marked on the sewing pattern.

The pants could comfortably have been shortened an extra 2 inches.

I went for the large size but I should have followed my instincts and gone for the medium as they've come out very baggy.
