Max and Meena Monster Rompaloones Sewing Project

I can't believe this is the first time I've actually made this pattern for one of my own kids.  It's become my go-to new baby pattern.  It's a super cute quick sew that's easily colour blocked so it's a great stash buster too.  This one is made from some leftover monster stretch lycra and an old baby blanket.

Tools and Materials:

For the bum circle start with both the romper and the bum circle right side down.  Pinch up the edges right sides together and pin.

Start at the top and work your way round using plenty of pins.

Sew and serge.

Press and top stitch with a straight stitch.

Pin, sew and serge shoulder seams.

Set in sleeves.

Side seams.

Sew along curve of hood and lining.

Put hood lining right sides together with hood and sew opening.

Turn, press and top stitch.

Sew hood to neckline overlapping ends by about 1/4".

Fold and press snap strip with reinforcing strip in the middle.

Pin, sew and serge along legs and crotch.

Add cuff bands to wrists and ankles.

Add snaps.
