Max and Meena Bitty Bobble Romper Sewing Project

Hmmm, I'm not too sure I like this romper that much.  It's the shape that looks silly to me, even more so in the shorts version, it's far too bottom heavy and my symmetry craving mind just can't accept it.  Having said that it will be very comfortable for my cloth bummed Little Pickle in the heat wave that's been promised this summer, so I'm hoping I'll change my mind once I see it on him . . . just got to wait until we have some weather that warrants it . . .

Side seams first.

Then the side seams on the facing.

I've finished the lower edges of the facing with my overlocker.

Straps next, stitched

And turned.

Pressed

and top stitched.

Stitched in place along with the facing.

Elastic inserted.

The ends secured.

Hems pressed.

and top stitched in place.

Top stitching around the top.

Button holes measured and marked.

Sewn.

Then buttons hand sewn in place.

Dufex Pyramage Blooms Cardmaking Project

I'm on a serious stash busting mission!!  I'm determined to make use of all the old stash that's been forgotten about at the bottom of the pile, usually because there's just a few bits left of what was once a coordinating range.  I find it really gets my creative juices flowing to challenge myself to use up leftovers like these.  And of course I'll be making some space in the process to treat myself to some new stash . . .

Challenges Entered:

Slow Cooker Chicken & Ham Gumbo Recipe

I usually make this gumbo with the leftover Christmas ham.  With the addition of some chicken I can stretch quite a small amount of meat into a good few meals.

Ingredients:
Leftover ham
Chicken
Onions
Celery
Peppers
Garlic
Chopped Tomatoes
Tomato Puree
Sweetcorn
Tyne
Chilli Powder
Chicken Stock
Plain Flour

Chop the onions

and the garlic.  Fry them until soft and add to the slow cooker.

Chop the celery, add to the slow cooker.

The peppers too.

Dice the ham, add this as well.

The chicken too.

Add the chicken stock cubes.

Chilli powder

and thyme

A generous sprinkle of sugar

and flour.

Sweetcorn

Tomato puree

And tinned chopped tomatoes.

Give it a stir.

And cook on high for 3 hours (or low for 5 hours).

Portioned up for the freezer.

Served with fresh baked crusty bread rolls.
